I have two stories eligible for awards consideration this. First is a short sci-fi story and second is shorter fantasy story:

I am eligible for consideration for the Campbell Award for new writers–I am in my second and final year of eligibility–and of course for Hugo or Nebula Awards.

My first pro-level fantasy sale–’Lures, Hooks and Tails’–is due to be published at Daily Science Fiction on Tuesday 13th December 2011. They circulate them to subscribers first and then publish the story on the website the following week.

My one and so far only zombie story, “Preacher Man” has been released in an Australian print mag (available on newstands and in ebook version). I even get a cover mention–my first ever…but to be fair I think all the authors get some cover love. Nice cover BTW. If you want a copy click on the picture…
I have just signed the contract for my zombie story–a rare animal for me to write–with Blackhouse Comics in Australia. I shall be sharing the table of contents (TOC) with fellow Writer of the Future winner (Volume 26, same as me!) Jason Fischer! Always fun to be TOC mates with someone you know.
Blackhouse Comics are available on news stands across Australia and their production values look great!
My 2k far-future story, ‘Beauty Deconstructed’ is to be published by Daily Science Fiction next week on Tuesday–13th September 2011. DSF circulate by email first to the few thousand people who have signed up and about a week later they put it up on the website:

I am shocked to hear about the death of Colin Harvey who died today from a stroke.
Colin was a fellow Codexian writer and I conversed with Colin online; he invited me to appear in Dark Spires anthology. I learned a great deal from him during the editing phase of my story; he helped me turn a rough piece of fiction into a polished story.
I met Colin later at BristolCon in 2010 and found him to be friendly and approachable and a thoroughly committed and creative individual.
I was hoping to catch up with him at BristolCon this year. My thoughts are with his family.
I heard last week that the guys at Daily Science Fiction have accepted my 1.5k story, ‘Lures, Hooks and Tails’.
It’s my second sale to DSF and I am really looking forward to seeing them both published.
