I won the Writers of the Future contest!

November 18th, 2009

It’s official–I’m second place winner of the third quarter, Writers of the Future Contest 2009. It has just been published on the blog.

My congratulations go to my fellow winners, Brent Knowles (1st Place Winner) and Brad Torgersen (3rd Place Winner).

In case you’re wondering why I am using a weapon of mass destruction for this post, I felt obliged to go BIGGER than the popping champagne piccy for the finalist post!

Besides, it represents what happened to my mind when Joni told me I’d won!

Tick-tock, tick-tock…

Hi Welcome to my new wordpress site.

It has been a struggle setting this up and transferring images is proving a nightmare. Still I hardly blog–at the moment–so it’s no biggie.

BSFA Award nomination for 2008

November 10th, 2009

This used to be on my blog, but I stuck back on as I was quite proud of being nominated–even though it was only on the long-list–for this prestigous award.

It was the first short story I ever had published–”An Empty Kind of Love”-Escape Velocity, Issue Two.

This story got a nice review in ‘The Fix’. Unfortunately, that disappeared when ‘The Fix’ disappeared.

Edited to add: I found this review, perhaps The Fix has returned?

Writer of the Future Finalist.

I accidentally destroyed my previous blog and have been forced to start again. I decided–due to laziness–to only include my latest news.

On 7th of October 2009, I received an email from Joni, the contest organizer, that my 3rd Quarter entry had been selected as finalist–amazing news!
